Lennore, will do anything to hold on to the girl.
Along with her new husband, a millionaire Stuart, close to the “soap bubble” of the world people from the upper classes. Unfortunately, fate will soon find perverse and will have a right old father, whom no one listened to the warnings. Holidays in Paris will end tragically – Kim and her friend are kidnapped.
The trail leads to the Albanian traffickers women. Big ambitions mediocre budget Bryan will be forced for the last time to take up arms … So in short outline of the plot looks like the film, Pierre Morel, which is a combination thriller and action movie. Morel knows his trade.
Ninty minutes less than movie watching with bated breath. History abducted keeps you in suspense from the beginning of the session. Hitchcock used to say: “A good movie is one that starts with an earthquake, then the tension only rises” – so it is in this case. Through a sequence of spectacular duels even, daring car chases, along with Bryan Mills wades viewer in the middle of hell trafficking. Like mother Kim, one does not realize how wide circles staggers mentioned dealings. The world is not safe, and the thugs will stop at nothing. Counts only cash and business, one does not care about human feelings. Morel did not mince measures. His image is strong and direct. Liam Neeson works great and it was his creation is the main driving force behind the film. Bryan, a specialist from the “dirty work”, is brutal and ruthless, like his opponents. With amazing precision reaches the “plug” and did not hesitate to tear down the Eiffel Tower, to save his daughter. Dynamism, assembly and the main character is undoubted strengths of the film.

Unfortunately, the director focused solely on the visual spectacular. As a result of this decision we get nicely wrapped, empty box. None in this film psychological depth.
There is besides attempts to analyze the phenomenon of trafficking in women, the problem of immigrants and finally the issue of devotion to the idea.
Bryan is in fact a man of action. However, taking the country has resulted in the collapse of his marriage. Now fighting only improve and maintain the relationship with her daughter. “Taken” is a great example of seasonal theater, set at the maximum stroke and unfortunately painful fall. It remains unsatisfied, which does not compensate for fun. A serious drawback that catches the eye is the awkwardness with which he tries to combine action sequences. Escaping from the “slaughterhouse No. 1” à la Rambo, Pierre Morel is trying to build a reliable picture of the desperate father who will stop at nothing to find the child unharmed. At the same time the dialogue, which the director weaves into the story, unnecessarily slows down the action. The lack of consistency brings comic situations and unnecessary scenes. Bryan Mills is a perfect hero, after which you can expect the worst of oppression come out unscathed. Picky viewer can be traced to domestic policy criticism here and the relationship father – daughter (let us add: only child). Any attempt to read this movie in a wider context will be overt, hypertextual overinterpretation. You will not find anything in this film beyond the efficient execution aimed at maximum excitement.
It should, however, turn a blind eye to any shortcomings and get caught up in the stream of pure action.
In this respect the production stands out above mediocrity. .
